Whatsapp is the most popular messaging application for mobile devices and is available on Google Play, App Store, and Windows Store. It has replaced our traditional Text Messages to a huge extent. It provides a convenient way to chat with friends, families, and colleagues that too for free. However, with the smart and responsive touchscreen, our Whatsapp Text and Media are more likely to be deleted by mistake. It’s really easy to Recover Deleted Whatsapp Messages, provided you recover your data within 7 days after deleting it.
Here’s How you can Recover Deleted Whatsapp Messages:
For recovering deleted text messages, simply uninstall your Whatsapp and Install it again. Whatsapp automatically restores your chat on a daily basis and is stored within Internal/External SD card of your Smartphone. When you install the application again, it will search for backup files on your device. Just tap Restore Backup when prompted and all your Chat History will be recovered.
Recovering Deleted Whatsapp messages:
Go to Whatsapp Folder which is by default present in Internal Memory of your Device. Tap on Databases Directory.
Inside the Databases directory, various files with extension db.crypt will be present. The general format is “msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt” in which “YYYY-MM-DD” is the year, month and date accordingly.
Select the specific file with the date for which you want to recover your data and rename it to msgstore.db.crypt. ex: Rename msgstore-2017-10-224.1.db.crypt file to msgstore.db.crypt.
Reinstall Whatsapp Messenger and Tap on Restore Backup when prompted. The backup data file msgstore.db.crypt will be recovered and restored. After the backup is complete, you can see that all your recent Messages are recovered along with Media files.
