Nokia 8 vs OnePlus 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S8: Specs, Price and Comparison

We have chosen the Nokia 8, the OnePlus 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 for the comparison. Even though the Nokia 8 is not available in the Indian market, we can expect the device to arrive here in the coming months.

Earlier this year, Samsung showed up with Galaxy S8 that has the cutting-edge features you need to do the things you love faster, easier and better. An eye-catching, 5.8″ inch curved display goes all the way to the edge. The 12MP camera and advanced processor take sharp, clear photos faster. Introducing Bixby – Samsung’s new intelligent interface that is able to navigate easily through services and apps so that users can experience more with their phones.

A month back OnePlus showed its hand with the powerful OnePlus 5, an amazingly powerful smartphone that costs less than USD 585 (Rs.38,000). A steal at that price, the OnePlus 5 has unsurprisingly landed to positive critical reception and is one of the most widely recommended Android phones for 2017.

Then there’s the Nokia 8, the first flagship phone we’ve seen come out of Finnish phone maker HMD – the company that’s paying to use the Nokia brand license. It’s certainly got the looks and the branding heft, but can it keep pace with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and OnePlus 5?

Conclusion:

The Nokia 8 will face heavy competition from rivals in the Indian market at launch. One thing to note here is that it does not bring anything new in terms of design or specifications. The only new feature that Nokia brings to the table is in terms of software with the ‘Bothie’ feature that uses both the front and back camera modules at the same time to capture a photo or video. The Nokia 8 can’t compete with OnePlus 5 in terms of the value for money proposition either. The design is also not as bold as that of the Galaxy S8.

So far, Nokia’s flagship seems like a very safe design. It offers a pure Android experience, plain design, and a brand name. For now, judging by the specs on paper, Nokia appears to be pinning.
