If you are WhatsApp user and having iOS device then your life is going to become a bit easier. As in the latest WhatsApp update for iOS another functionality have been added that gives Apple’s intelligent Assistant Siri access to read out WhatsApp messages.

However to access this feature on your iOS device you’ll need to have latest iOS 10.3 OS. And in latest update you need to Authenticate it in two steps.

So, the recent update for iOS 10 will allow Siri to read out WhatsApp messages, reply and even send new messages to those people which are on your WhatsApp contact list. Only drawback is that this functionaity works with unread messages.

The feature will make it easier to keep in touch with family and friends. but more importantly, it is seen as a significant contribution towards vehicle safety by keeping eyes on the road and hands on the wheel rather than seeing your WhatsApp messages again and again.

It is pretty simple but you’ll need to follow some steps to enable your iPhone to support Siri for WhatsApp messages:

Update your WhatsApp to the latest version

WhatsApp for iOS has received an update to version 2.17.20, which can be downloaded from app store. Already said that Siri will work with WhatsApp only if your iPhone is running on iOS 10.3 OS.

Enable Siri support for WhatsApp on iPhone

Once you updated your WhatsApp to the latest version, users will need to enable Siri support for WhatsApp on your iPhone. Simply go to your iPhone settings > Select Siri > Tab on App support and turn on support for WhatsApp.

Allow Siri to access your WhatsApp contacts

Now you’ll need to allow Siri to access your WhatsApp contacts. To do that Long-press your iPhone home button. Once you hear Siri’s loud prompt, just say “Hey Siri, read my new WhatsApp message”. To do that, make sure Siri can access your contacts.

If you haven’t already, here’s how to give Siri permission to access your contacts: Go to Settings > Tap on privacy > select contacts. And you are set. You can now ask Siri to send a message to any one via WhatsApp.
